Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain web-based features across the full stack
Collaborate directly with developers and former educators to solve real classroom problems
Build and consume APIs and work with relational databases
Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code
Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices

Qualification

Required

3+ years of professional software development experience
Experience with at least one backend language (Java, PHP, C#, Go, etc.)
Strong experience with TypeScript/JavaScript
UI and design experience (HTML, CSS, Tailwind, etc.)
Strong experience with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases
Experience building and consuming APIs
Familiarity with AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, etc.)
Solid grasp of software engineering fundamentals (Git, code reviews, testing)
Availability M thru F 8:00 AM Central Standard Time (CST), Chicago, IL

Preferred

Experience with AI/ML integration, LLMs, or generative AI APIs
Experience with React Router, server-side rendering, or modern React frameworks
Background in EdTech or assessment/testing platforms
Experience with Docker and CI/CD pipelines
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
