Controller
Confidential company is seeking a Controller to lead the accounting and plant finance functions. This role focuses on financial leadership and operational partnership within a manufacturing environment, ensuring financial accuracy and supporting growth initiatives.

Responsibilities
Own the full financial close process, ensuring accurate, timely, and decision-ready financial statements
Serve as the primary authority on accounting policy, GAAP compliance, and financial integrity
Provide clear financial insights and recommendations to executive and operational leadership
Maintain balance sheet accuracy, working capital discipline, and cash flow visibility
Lead all aspects of manufacturing and cost accounting, including standard costing, cost rollups, and margin analysis
Translate production, labor, material, and overhead data into actionable financial insights
Partner with operations to improve profitability, efficiency, and cost controls
Support pricing strategy, margin improvement initiatives, and capital investment decisions
Design, implement, and continuously improve internal controls and financial governance
Ensure audit readiness and manage external audit relationships
Oversee tax compliance support, inventory controls, and regulatory requirements
Identify financial risks and proactively implement mitigation strategies
Lead and develop the accounting and finance team with clear expectations and accountability
Elevate the department from transactional execution to analytical and strategic support
Drive continuous improvement in processes, documentation, and team capabilities
Lead the annual budgeting process and ongoing forecasts
Analyze performance versus budget, prior periods, and operational targets
Support strategic planning, growth initiatives, and operational investments
Deliver concise, executive-level financial reporting and analysis
Own financial systems and ERP integrity (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, JD Edwards, or similar)
Lead process automation, reporting enhancements, and system improvements
Partner cross-functionally with IT, operations, and supply chain to scale financial infrastructure
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
8+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing finance or accounting
Demonstrated success in a Controller, Plant Controller, or senior finance leadership role
Deep expertise in cost accounting and manufacturing financial operations
Proven experience leading and developing accounting teams
Strong ERP and financial systems experience
Preferred
CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification
Experience in multi-site, private equity-backed, or growth-oriented manufacturing environments
Track record of partnering with operations and executive leadership
