Responsibilities
Lead major modernization workstreams — migrating complex legacy web applications into a modern Microfrontend ecosystem, creating repeatable migration patterns and shared foundations other teams can build on — while ensuring performance, developer experience, and user impact stay high throughout the transition
Ship production-critical frontend code, define patterns and boundaries that other teams build on, and partner cross-functionally to make architectural change practical and durable
Qualification
Required
6+ years of professional frontend software engineering experience
Deep experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and React
Hands-on experience with Next.js or similar modern web frameworks
Experience working with or migrating large, complex, or legacy frontend codebases
Familiarity with Microfrontend architectures, monorepos, or shared frontend platforms
Strong understanding of web performance, bundling, and optimization techniques
Experience collaborating with backend and platform teams to define clean integration patterns
Comfort operating in environments with high traffic, high visibility, and real user impact
Strong ownership mindset, taking responsibility for frontend systems from design through long-term evolution
Strong systems thinking, with the ability to reason about frontend architecture at scale
Pragmatic approach to modernization, balancing ideal solutions with incremental, low-risk progress
Strong collaboration skills and comfort working closely with both product and platform teams
Long-term perspective on maintainability, extensibility, and developer experience
Preferred
Familiarity integrating modern frontends with Rails-backed systems is a plus
