The Save Mart Companies is California’s largest regional, full-service grocery chain, founded over 70 years ago. The Senior FP&A Analyst will assist with revenue planning, analyze financial statements, develop financial models, and provide financial guidance to support business objectives.

Responsibilities

Support the revenue planning process for development of monthly forecast and annual operating plan

Create forecast models that provide guidance and insight for the company to achieve its objectives

Review forecasts with business stakeholders and finance leadership, highlighting areas of opportunity and risk

Analyze and evaluate performance of strategic initiatives on a pre/post net of control basis

Review and analyze financial reports to drive insights for optimal business decisions

Prepare and deliver presentations to business stakeholders and senior executives

Track KPIs and prepare recurring financial reports in partnership with Accounting and business stakeholders

Provide business stakeholders with financial guidance through proactive research and analysis

Drive process improvement for accuracy and efficiency/automation within areas of responsibility

Other ad-hoc support and analysis as needed

Required

Relevant experience including retail or other multi-unit company, investment banking, private equity, or consulting

Solid finance/accounting knowledge (e.g. ability to create sophisticated financial models, understanding of financial statements and metrics, understanding of accounting processes)

Expertise in Microsoft Office including Excel and PowerPoint

Working knowledge of financial planning systems such as Adaptive Insights and Hyperion

Working knowledge of relational data models and SQL or query tools preferred

Robust analytical skills including working knowledge of statistics

Verbal and written communication skills; ability to present financial information to a non-financial audience

Solid organizational skills and detail orientation with ability to multi-task to meet key deadlines

Ability to operate independently and to communicate and influence across multiple organizational levels, including senior executives

Strong problem-solving skills, ability to summarize results succinctly, and ability to perform in a fast-paced environment

5 years in rigorous, fast-paced financial planning, analysis and modeling

4 year Bachelors Degree and/or equivalent experience/training in Accounting, Finance, or related field
