Analyst II
California Franchise Tax Board is seeking a skilled Analyst II to join their dynamic team. The role involves performing various analytical support activities, recommending system changes, and resolving complex business entity accounts to enhance efficiencies in return and payment validation.

Responsibilities
Perform a variety of analytical support activities
Recommend system changes to enhance efficiencies with our business entity return and payment processing validation
Participate in project teams that may have bureau wide impacts
Analyze and resolve complex and sensitive business entity accounts
Develop and implement workload procedures
Identify training needs
Recommend process improvements
Review business entity letters and notices
Identify problems or issues that affect business entity return and payment processing validation
Identify solutions that ensure positive outcomes
Qualification
Required
Knowledge of Franchise Tax Board's organization, operations, and business entity tax law
Knowledge of FTB systems: Business Entities Tax System (BETS), Taxpayer Folder (TPF); Case Management (CM), Business Entities Inventory Tracking System (BITS) or similar systems
Ability to analyze a business entity account
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well with others and obtain their cooperation
Ability to work independently and in a team environment to achieve intended results
Strong organizational skills, including the ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities
Ability to analyze and evaluate situations, draw sound conclusions, and determine and implement an appropriate course of action
Ability to effectively present ideas and information, both verbally and in writing
Good work ethic, positive attitude, and self-motivation
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.) and Adobe Acrobat Professional
Experience reviewing and writing procedures
Ability to write and review business requirements for Business Entities Section's Systems of Work
Ability to conduct root cause analysis and communicate findings
