Dining Room Supervisor - Job Fair

Responsibilities
Serve meals to residents, family members and visitors in a professional, dignified, efficient and courteous manner
Bring, serve, and refill beverages, including water, coffee, soda, wine, beer, and cocktails in appropriate glasses
If of legal age, open and serve wine and beer and prepare cocktails. Stocks bar with wine, beer, liquor, mixers and garnishes. Submits requests Executive Chef regarding products to order
Accurately and professionally take residents and guests’ food and beverage orders and either enter them into the POS (point of sale computer) or submit ticket with order to the kitchen
Properly input to-go and take-out orders as well as team member meals according to current procedures
Verify food prepared matches items ordered on POS. Ensure food orders reflect special requests, including menu substitutions
Assist residents with menu selections as needed. Identify how various menu items are prepared, ingredients, and cooking methods especially for daily specials for residents and guests
Serve as a liaison with kitchen and dining room team members to make corrections or adjustments to orders as necessary
Ensure that plates are presentable before serving. Bring and serve food using large oval trays and tray stands
Ensure compliance with all proper serving techniques/etiquette (e.g., serving from left, clearing used dishes between courses, etc.)
Ensure proper set up of dining room tables and server stations with all utensils, chinaware, glassware, sugars, salt, pepper, creamers, and crackers, fill beverage machines and make coffee, juice, etc. as needed
Bus tables and return all dishes to the kitchen. Clean tables and chairs after meals and sweep, vacuum and pick up floor areas, as needed. Flip tables by replacing linens, as needed
Maintain clean, sanitary, and clutter free work environment at all times
Deliver meals to resident rooms as required
As directed, evaluate, coordinate, train, motivate, monitor performance, schedule, and supervise department team members in accordance with Company policy and at the direction of department Manager
Make recommendations with respect to team member evaluations, merit pay increases, reprimands, disciplinary actions, and terminations
Assist residents and other servers in all areas of resident meal service (salads, soup, entrees, beverages, desserts etc.) as necessary
Chart and assign dining room sections for servers, as directed
Supervise service of meals to ensure maximum resident enjoyment of the dining experience and that the services are delivered to residents in a continuous, predictable, and efficient manner
Supervise performance of all cleaning and side work in dining room and kitchen areas. Establish and post side work assignments for all dining room personnel on all shifts, as directed
As directed, assist in planning and executing catered events in the Community
Qualification
Required
Must be eighteen (18) years of age
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
Able to operate a personal computer and be proficient in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.)
Able to be flexible, adapt and respond to change, make decisions in stressful situations, and prioritize tasks and projects
Able to analyze, solve and respond to problems or concerns
Able to obtain and maintain valid first aid certification
Able to obtain and maintain valid Food Handler's certification, as needed
Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests and to wear face coverings and other personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 or other communicable diseases, per regulatory guidelines
Preferred
Prefer one (1) year of experience working in a restaurant or similar environment
Knowledge of and/or ability to learn the theory and practice of assisted living and dementia care
Able to work with seniors and patiently interact with cognitively impaired individuals
