Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of manufacturing/assembly engineers
Oversee assembly line processes, workflows, tooling, and fixture development
Improve assembly efficiency using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies
Create and maintain standardized work, assembly instructions, and process documentation
Support daily assembly operations and troubleshoot process/ergonomic issues
Collaborate with design, quality, operations, and supply chain teams
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across all assembly areas
Implement new technologies, tools, and automation to support assembly improvements
Monitor KPIs related to throughput, quality, safety, and labor efficiency
Train assembly teams on new procedures and process improvements
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree required in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience, with 5+ years in a leadership role
Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and process optimization
Must have assembly environment experience, specifically with heavy equipment or mining machinery assembly
Experience improving assembly workflows, tooling, and ergonomics
Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills
Preferred
Experience with heavy equipment, mobile machinery, or mining equipment assembly
Background in layout optimization, standardized work, and assembly tooling development
Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and engineering documentation
