EVS Technician Lead

The Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services is seeking an EVS Technician Lead for Central State Hospital, a psychiatric inpatient facility. The role involves leading cleaning tasks, ensuring compliance with cleaning standards, and effectively communicating with the EVS Supervisor to maintain a hygienic environment.

Responsibilities

Will complete Lead Expectations Training: Management & Professionalism in the Workplace
Housekeeper Checklist's to be filled out as you progress in your shift - EVS Supervisor to make rounds to sign Checklists
Housekeeper Checklist's shall be completed every day & turned into EVS Supervisor for filing
Area task assignments to be divided & rotated fairly with current staffing levels in mind
Will effectively communicate with EVS Supervisor as needs arise with equipment, building, obstacles, staffing, productivity, & quality
Lead’s shall be working leads and will participate in all cleaning tasks, and lead by example to standards and expectations
Daily clean floors in assigned areas by sweeping, dust mopping, or wet mopping
Moving furniture to clean areas underneath and behind, including refrigerators, or other movable items
Scrub floor areas using floor scrubbing machines
Use a wet capacity vacuum cleaner to pick up scrubbing solution, or if a flood occurs
Vacuum carpeted areas and may include the use of a carpet extractor to remove a spill/ and or stain
Daily replenishing of toilet paper, paper towels, soap, & sanitizer
Daily clean and disinfect Restroom & Shower/Bathroom areas complete
Includes the following: ceiling, ceiling vents, walls, & partition wall conditions; toilets, urinals, & sinks; shower, sink, urinal, & toilet plumbing; mirrors, and other items listed on back of Employee Checklist
Daily Clean, Police, & Disinfect all Areas as designated by Employee Checklist(s), and/ or by special instructions given for non- routine areas, or for special cleaning recovery projects
Non-Patient Care Areas: Replenish Supplies, Dust, Clean, and Mop all areas as instructed
Patient Care Areas: Replenish Supplies, Dust, Clean, and Mop all areas as instructed
Patient Rooms: Clean per-Employee Checklist using the instructed Best Cleaning and Disinfection Practice on back of Employee Checklist, and to be done for all above areas in building
Gather and remove all trash and dispose in dumpster
Gather and remove all linen and dispose in dumpster, if instructed
Trash Receptacles, including trash transport wheeled bins shall be cleaned inside and outside
Replace liners
Police daily the immediate vicinity of assigned building (within 30 feet) to include entrances and porches to be litter free
Overhead areas (ceiling, ceiling vents and fixtures, wall ledges and edges, and other items high above to be cleaned, and may require the use of a ladder or a mechanical lift, and only as instructed by a supervisor
All areas are to be reached by mop extension sticks with attachments as required first before using a ladder or mechanical lift
Display respect and empathy when engaged with others when cleaning an area

Valid Virginia Driver's license
Experience in performing cleaning tasks in a systematic manner
