Responsibilities
Direct preliminary and detailed planning for construction projects; establishing priorities; providing guidance and direction on technical aspects of work
Coordinate engineering work activities within and outside the utility, including long-range planning studies and planning for construction projects
Provide technical support for system personnel with respect to system design, replacement, and repairs
Develop and maintain a computerized electric model of the complete distribution system; perform routine electrical analyses and long-range planning studies; and make recommendations regarding conductor sizing, substation size and location, transformer size and location, and developer participation
Review and evaluate current system data and trends
Manage long-range planning activities of both internal projects and consultants, including studies of service expansion requirements and their associated impact
Facilitate the development of capital improvement plan (CIP); assist with future growth studies, rate evaluation, and annual budget requirements
Coordinate processes through various governmental agencies concerning utility facilities
Represent the Company through business meetings with regulatory agencies, contractors, customers, and intradepartmental meetings
Qualification
Required
Technical degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Computer Engineering), plus three (3) years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Arkansas-licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
Must possess a valid Arkansas Driver's License and meet the requirements of the Conway Corporation's insurance provider
Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively and professionally with colleagues, managers, and vendors
Excellent communication and organizational skills with an emphasis on customer service and the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, AutoCAD, and Electric modeling software
Must live within a 30-minute response time of the intersection of Harkrider and Oak Streets in Conway
Ability to work non-standard hours when required

Membership in the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers
