Head of Engineering

Redbridge Debt and Treasury Advisory is an independent consulting firm providing payments and debt advisory services to multinational corporations. They are seeking a Head of Engineering to lead the technical vision and engineering organization of their fintech platforms, overseeing teams in both the US and the UK while driving excellence in solution design and modernization initiatives.

Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and support engineering teams across the US and UK
Recruit, onboard, and develop engineering talent
Foster a culture of curiosity, accountability, and continuous improvement
Establish processes, performance workflows, and engineering rituals
Define and maintain the technical vision and architecture roadmap
Provide architectural guidance across LAMP based applications and data systems
Ensure platform scalability, maintainability, security, and alignment with business strategy
Support problem resolution, design reviews, and technical decision making
Drive consistent architecture reviews, code quality practices, and engineering excellence
Promote quality practices including automated testing, CI/CD, code reviews, and continuous improvement
When relevant drive modernization of legacy systems toward more modular, API-driven, cloud-aligned architectures
Champion the use of AI/ML tools in development and product innovation
Support the design of resilient integrations with third party solutions, SaaS tools, data sources or files providers
Stay informed on emerging technologies, DevOps practices, and fintech trends
Communicate complex engineering topics clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
Collaborate with Product, Data, Compliance, and business stakeholders
Contribute to governance, documentation, and internal best-practice frameworks
Ensure engineering practices comply with industry security standards, including SOC 2, GDPR, and financial regulatory expectations
Define secure-by-design and secure coding standards, ensuring security considerations are embedded in all phases of development
Ensure the platform meets penetration testing requirements and lead remediation efforts for vulnerabilities
Collaborate with internal and external auditors on SOC 2 controls, documentation, and engineering evidence
Implement robust monitoring, logging, and auditing practices aligned with regulatory requirements
Drive the adoption of threat modeling, security testing automation, and vulnerability scanning tooling
Ensure delivery teams follow structured change management, disaster recovery, and incident response processes
Oversee and participate in (lead by example) end-to-end technical delivery ensuring timely, high-quality releases
Implement and refine Agile, CI/CD, coding standards, and automation workflows
Coordinate incident management, root-cause analysis, and remediation
Drive continuous improvement in platform reliability and performance

Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD, automation, and infrastructure management
Experience building financial or regulated systems for internal and external users
Familiarity with compliance, security, and regulatory requirements in financial applications
Experience using AI in software development processes and integrating AI features into products
Experience leading distributed engineering teams
Strong organizational and project management capabilities
Ability to communicate across technical and business audiences

Prior involvement in SOC 2 programs, ISO frameworks, or audit-driven environments
Involvement in modernization or digital transformation initiatives
Professional fluency in English, both written and spoken is essential
University-educated
