Responsibilities
Lead oversight and day-to-day management of technical environments including development, integration, testing, staging, production, and disaster recovery
Ensure environments are stable, scalable, secure, and compliant with applicable industry regulations and internal standards
Manage multiple technology stacks and software platforms to ensure interoperability, data integrity, and high availability
Support strategic planning for environment delivery aligned with project phases, business priorities, and risk management objectives
Partner with internal architecture and engineering teams, as well as third-party vendors, to design, implement, and maintain infrastructure supporting investment data ingestion, processing, analytics, and portfolio management
Oversee deployment, configuration, and integration of investment management platforms, including proprietary solutions and third-party systems (e.g., State Street Alpha, FactSet, Jacobi)
Establish monitoring and support capabilities to proactively manage environment health, capacity, and security
Manage relationships with critical technology vendors and service providers, ensuring SLAs are met and performance aligns with business requirements
Coordinate vendor activities such as upgrades, patches, and support escalations to minimize operational disruption
Participate in contract discussions, vendor risk assessments, and performance reviews in collaboration with procurement and legal partners
Ensure all environments comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies related to data privacy, security, and operational risk
Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to implement controls and monitor vulnerabilities specific to investment management platforms
Support incident response activities, root cause analysis, and remediation efforts for environment-related issues impacting investment operations
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance environment performance, increase automation, and reduce manual effort in provisioning, deployment, and monitoring
Develop and maintain environment documentation, standards, and best practices aligned to investment management needs
Act as a primary liaison between investment teams, internal IT groups, and external vendors
Provide regular reporting on environment status, risks, and improvement initiatives to senior leadership and key stakeholders
Proactively manage and escalate environment-related risks and issues to ensure timely resolution
Qualification
Required
Proven experience managing complex technical environments within large-scale IT ecosystems, including internal and SaaS applications in financial services or investment management
Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), testing methodologies, and environment provisioning tools
Demonstrated knowledge of investment management business processes
Experience integrating diverse technology stacks and platforms in a regulated financial environment
Strong communication, stakeholder management, and leadership capabilities
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, transformation-driven environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive risk management mindset
Preferred
Experience working within Agile, DevOps, or CI/CD delivery models
Familiarity with ITIL or similar IT service management frameworks
Working knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and automation/monitoring tools
Prior experience supporting OCIO or investment consulting environments
