Responsibilities

Work and learn as part of the Projects Engineering Department
You will work on individual and team projects which can range from new equipment implementation to process improvements and development, validations, experimentation and problem analysis
Problem solving on existing processes
Obtain knowledge and experience in manufacturing processes
Use statistical methods for product and process analysis

Required

Currently enrolled in a 4-year engineering degree program in good academic standing as a pending Sophomore, Junior or Senior in an undergraduate program in a Mechanical Engineering major
At least one semester of core engineering course work completed
Must be available for 10 weeks during Summer 2026 (May 27th – July 31st, 2026) with a graduation date of December 2026 or later
Be interested in working for Corning, Inc after graduation, if presented with a full-time job opportunity
Be willing to work at the posted job location: Kennebunk, ME
Basic knowledge of manufacturing systems and experience with data analysis (i.e. Microsoft Excel, SPC rules)
Knowledge of CAD programs (SolidWorks preferred)
Ability to create and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics
Strong computer skills; proficient with Microsoft applications
Technical writing with the ability to deliver technical presentations to operators, engineers, and managers
Process engineering skills (coursework in process engineering, statistics, or other statistical training)
We are seeking someone who is innovative and technically curious
Strong problem solving and decision-making skills
Results-oriented with a high commitment level

GPA > 3.00
Ability to handle multiple projects/tasks
Motivated, self-starter with an independent learning style
Effective communication & presentation skills (verbal and written)
