Responsibilities

Develop, manage, and grow a portfolio of new and existing business banking clients
Build trusted advisory relationships through a consultative, needs-based approach
Deliver customized financial solutions that enhance client satisfaction, loyalty, and profitability
Maintain strong knowledge of commercial lending, including credit evaluation, risk assessment, and mitigation strategies
Originate new loans, grow deposits, and expand relationships through cross-selling of bank products and services
Operate effectively in a team-oriented sales culture with defined performance metrics and growth objectives
Manage moderately complex client portfolios, transactions, and credit structures
Build and leverage strong internal partnerships and external networks to support client needs
Maintain a visible presence in the local market through community involvement and centers of influence (COI) relationships
Ensure compliance with risk management, regulatory, and internal policy standards
Proactively identify opportunities to deepen relationships and generate new business

Required

4+ years of experience in business banking, commercial lending, or relationship management
Bachelor's degree required
Completion of formal commercial credit training
Proven experience managing business banking or commercial portfolios
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with banking technologies and portfolio management tools
Demonstrated ability to self-source and grow new business
Strong customer service mindset with a focus on long-term retention
Effective negotiation skills with the ability to navigate objections and challenges
Solid understanding of credit risk, compliance, and banking regulations

Preferred

Active involvement in the local business or community is strongly preferred
