Responsibilities

Produces computerized tomographic scanner radiographs of designated anatomical areas in accordance with established standards
Practices and procedures; accurately interpret a physician’s scanning instructions
Obtains patient history, explains routine procedures and addresses patient concerns
Performs all ultrasound techniques and examinations, abdominal scans, retroperitoneal scans, obstetric and gynecological scans, radiation therapy localization for treatment planning and minor surgical procedures
Performs quality assurance on CT scanning equipment according to ACR QA requirements
Properly uses the Radiology Information System (RIS) and Picture Archiving and communication system (PACS)
Performs all other duties as assigned

Required

Must have Advanced experience in post processing of 3D imaging
Must be current with the functionality of CT scanners and must have strong IV skills
Knowledgeable in the operation of the power injector and contrast administration/usage, as well as all peripheral hardware, including the console, monitoring equipment, and any and all devices used in CT
Ability to assess a situation, consider alternatives and choose an appropriate course of actions
Demonstrated knowledge and skill necessary to provide care to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
BLS Basic Life Support Required
AART American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (R) (CT) - Required
MRT Medical Radiologic Technologist - Required
Five (5) years of CT experience to include at least one (1) year of Radiation Simulation experience is required

Retirement - Employees are eligible for either the Teacher Retirement System (TRS) or the Optional Retirement Plan (ORP). TRS is a defined benefit retirement plan which UT Health matches employee contributions. ORP is for eligible faculty staff employees. Voluntary retirement programs are also available to invest before- or after-tax dollars with the choice of five quality retirement plan providers.
Time Off - A generous leave program offers multiple paid leave options: • Front-loaded Paid Time Off: 128 to 208 hours (16 to 26 days) of Paid Time Off based on years of service, given at the start of each fiscal year. PTO may be prorated in year one based on date of hire. • Extended Illness Bank: 8 hours (1 day) accrued per month which can be used for illness or injury after one day of Paid Time Off is taken. • Paid Family Leave: Up to 240 hours (6 weeks) to care for a spouse, child, or parent after 6 months of consecutive employment. • Holidays: 12 set paid holidays each year.
