GSE Technician

Responsibilities
Performs daily aviation ground support equipment pre-operational inspections, ensures all equipment is fueled ready for use before the beginning of each shift
Performs major repairs and overhaul of aviation ground support equipment, including aircraft tow tractors, electrical and hydraulic power units, company vehicles trucks, vans, golf cars and other industrial power equipment and industrial power tools throughout the facility
Performs preventative and non-routine maintenance inspections, including cleaning, general servicing (oil, gas, tires) and other minor maintenance tasks on ground equipment vehicles, including company vehicles, leased power industrial equipment, and aircraft tow tractors
Performs repairs and periodic maintenance of aircraft auxiliary air power units (APU’s/Airstarts)
Troubleshoots and repairs various electrical and mechanical discrepancies with ground equipment independently
Performs general maintenance and repairs of various types of work stands, must be able to cut and weld steel. Knowledgeable of MIG, Stick and Oxy/Acetylene welding types
Drives forklifts, trucks, vans, tow tractors or other vehicles
Prepares and maintains records of ground support equipment repairs, and maintains vehicle-specific logs and records
Using hand tools and necessary equipment, performs skilled mechanical work as necessary or instructed
Lifts and carries hand tools, parts, and work materials; ascends and descends ladders and platforms; and frequently works in a variety of positions such as stooping, kneeling or squatting
Follows safety procedures and wears and utilizes appropriate safety equipment for the work being performed
Reads instructions and safety information as necessary for proper and safe completion of assigned work
Communicates effectively in English regarding work activities, per FAA requirements
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Minimum four (3) years of relevant experience providing knowledge of related work techniques, equipment terminology, parts, labor, tasks, and processes
High school diploma or GED required
A valid Florida Driver's License is required
Individual will perform daily transactions within Flightstar's ERP system (AMROS) as well as various equipment maintenance logs
Work safely and follow safety rules and regulations. Report unsafe working conditions and behavior. Take reasonable prudent actions to prevent others from engaging in unsafe practices. Adhere to Flightstar's SMS safety culture
