Responsibilities
Create, revise, and update engineering drawings, including:
Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
Piping layouts, plans, and related Oil & Gas documentation
Apply and manage redline (as-built) updates accurately
Support a large document control campaign, ensuring drawings meet quality and compliance standards
Perform quality checks (QC) and support quality assurance (QA) of technical documents
Assist engineers with documentation updates resulting from 3D scanning and site data
Maintain drawing consistency, version control, and documentation accuracy
Participate in occasional field visits to support verification and documentation updates
Collaborate closely with a team of engineers and stakeholders
Qualification
Required
Strong experience as a CAD Designer / Drafter, preferably in Oil & Gas or industrial environments
Proficiency with AutoCAD
Solid understanding of P&IDs and piping/instrumentation drawings
Working knowledge of document control processes
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage revisions, redlines, and controlled documents accurately
Willingness to live in or relocate to Carlsbad, NM
Preferred
Oil & Gas industry experience
Experience using Bluebeam
Exposure to as-built documentation, 3D scanning, or laser scanning workflows
Bachelor's degree preferred, but strong CAD/drafting experience without a degree is acceptable
