Project Manager
Summit Design + Build is actively seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our team in Chicago, IL. This role is ideal for someone with strong multi-family construction experience who can lead projects from start to finish and work closely with owners, consultants, and trade partners.
Responsibilities
Manage all phases of the construction process from preconstruction through closeout
Lead internal teams, including Project Engineers and Project Coordinators
Maintain constant communication with owners, architects, consultants, and subcontractors
Ensure projects stay on track with budgets, schedules, and quality standards
Support bid/estimating efforts, manage buyout, and oversee subcontractor selection
Lead weekly construction meetings and maintain safety and quality expectations
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field
8–10 years of project management experience in multi-family/commercial construction
Strong multi-family project experience is required
Strong decision-making skills and ability to manage multiple priorities under deadlines
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred
Experience on large-scale projects (ex: $10M+ / $50M+) is a plus
Familiarity with the Chicago construction market is a plus
Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, Sage CRE 300, and On-Screen Takeoff is preferred
