Program Manager- Diversion First Waterbury

The Program Manager for Diversion First will oversee a state-wide initiative aimed at diverting youth from the juvenile justice system, ensuring they receive the necessary support and case management throughout the process.

Responsibilities

Provides administrative and programmatic oversight in accordance with model, program, and agency requirements
Ensures service delivery, record documentation and record oversight in accordance with Youth Diversion Team (YDT) model, program, and agency requirements
Maintains accountability for the achievement of program(s) goals and staff compliance with organizational and contractor’s goals and deadlines (e.g., certifications, training, standards)
Ensures that staff members and self-attend, participate and/or otherwise complete required supervision, rounds, and other internal/ external trainings and meetings in accordance with program, contractor, and agency requirements
Provides continued support and feedback to staff members regarding strengths, performance concerns, strategies for improvement through the consistent use of supervision, documentation and as necessary, corrective action plans developed and implemented in conjunction with Director and/or other senior staff
Communicates in a positive and effective manner with other service providers, managed care companies, DCF, CSSD, and other internal and external customers and promotes the same professionalism of staff members
Takes active lead in local and statewide system of care and trainings
Maintains a consistent and active community voice on each community YDT
Conducts effective performance evaluations, sets goals and objectives, and monitors performance. Helps team execute career development plans
Facilitates staff and team development by consistently acknowledging each team member's contributions, effectively utilizing each team member to his/her fullest potential, motivating team members to work together utilizing each other’s strengths and leadership skills, mitigating team conflict and communication problems, and serving as a role model to set and manage expectations
Provides orientation and training to new staff. In conjunction with leadership determines staffing requirements and hires new staff
Identifies and suggests areas for improvement in internal processes along with possible solutions. Implements changes, with senior staff approval, to maximize operating efficiency
Recruits community leaders in education, law enforcement, business, social services, and child advocacy for community YDT membership
Provides coverage for staff vacancies or absences on an as needed basis
Continues to develop knowledge and understanding about the history, traditions, values, family systems, and artistic expression of groups served as well as uses appropriate methodological approaches, skills, and techniques that reflect an understanding of culture

Required

Master's Degree in juvenile/criminal justice, community planning, social work administration or related field
At least 3 years' experience with service delivery to children, adolescents and families
Must have a valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation
