Responsibilities
Lead and manage underwriting team to ensure accurate risk evaluation and adherence to company guidelines
Serve as primary client-facing contact for underwriting-related discussions, providing clear communication and professional guidance
Review and approve complex cases, ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal standards
Collaborate with sales, finance, and operations teams to support business objectives and deliver exceptional client experiences
Analyze financial and risk data to develop underwriting strategies that align with profitability goals
Train and mentor team members, fostering professional development and continuous improvement
Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes to maintain competitive and compliant underwriting practices
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field
3+ years of underwriting experience, preferably in [insert industry: insurance, lending, etc.]
3+ years of experience in finance and risk analysis
Preferred
Proficiency in underwriting systems and financial modeling tools
Proven excellent communication and presentation skills for client interactions
Proven solid analytical and decision-making abilities
Proven leadership experience with proven ability to manage and develop teams
Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, client-focused environment
Proven solid negotiation and relationship-building skills
Proven detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and compliance
