1820 Junior Administrative Analyst, Budget (PCS)
San Francisco Unified School District is California's seventh-largest school district, serving 50,000 students. They are seeking a Junior Administrative Analyst to support budget planning and monitoring, coordinate budget alignment, and provide training and customer service to departments.

Responsibilities
Support the planning and monitoring of school site and/or central department budgets, as well as the ongoing support, training, and tracking of expenditures to ensure alignment to budget
Coordinate the implementation of aligning budgets to the needs of sites and central departments by working cross-departmentally through planning and implementation and execution of funds
Facilitate training for sites ad-hoc, doing walkthroughs via phone or in-person to ensure understanding of processes
Provide customer service and thought partnership with departments and schools to ensure there are adequate funds for various needs (e.g., equipment, staffing, contracts, etc.)
Contribute to team by working closely with analysts to solve cross departmental budget issues
Take responsibility for meeting expectations of Budget Office team members such as participating in team meetings, maintaining accurate reports and records, meeting deadlines, and proposing process improvements
Review and export large sets of data into Excel reports for data analysis
Communicate budget data to site and central administrators both proactively and in response to requests
Ensure new positions are set up accurately and budgeted for in our online position management system
Support the balancing of individual funding sources, including tracking revenue, allocating budget, and monitoring expenditures
Qualification
Required
1 year of relevant budget, accounting, financial analysis, or data analysis experience
Effective written and oral communication skills
Intermediate proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets, including but not limited to pivot tables, vlookup, conditional formatting, charts and tables
Intermediate in Microsoft Office and Google Drive applications including Word, Powerpoint, Docs, and Slides
Excellent data analysis skills and experience synthesizing data to drive action steps

Well-developed cultural humility, awareness of their own identity, and understanding of internalized, interpersonal, and systemic racism and other forms of oppression
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to convey complex information to a variety of audiences (e.g., large groups, staff meetings, executive briefings, public board meetings, memos)
Strong analytics and quantitative skills
Possession of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university
May substitute up to 2 years of the required education with qualifying full-time, professional-level experience in budget analysis, financial analysis and reporting, legislative/policy analysis, data analysis, or contract/grant administration. One year (2,000 hours) of qualifying experience will be considered equivalent to 30 semester/45 quarter units
