COMMITMENT RECORDS SPECIALIST, LEAD

The State of Maryland's Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services is seeking dedicated candidates for the role of Commitment Records Specialist, Lead. This position involves reviewing, auditing, and adjusting inmate records and processing inmate information into the Statewide Computer System to maintain accurate records.

Responsibilities

A Commitment Records Specialist Lead is responsible for reviewing, auditing, and adjusting inmate records specialized commitment procedures
Reviews, audits and adjusts inmate records following specialized commitment procedures which may include:
Reviewingandadjustinginmatecommitmentinformation upon intake
Adjustinginmaterecordsasnecessaryininstancesofescape, release or parole violations
Reviewingandadjustingallinmaterecordspriortorelease,court appearances or transfers
Process 50 to 60 new commitment packets for verification and file in active files
Process 50 to 60 inmate commitment papers and prepare for release daily
Process the preparation of approximately 250 inmate commitment papersforcourtappearanceinDistrictand CircuitCourt
Process 30 or more sentenced inmates for transfer to Division of Corrections
Processes other inmate information into Statewide Computer System maintaining necessary backup information including but not limited to:
Placingandliftingdetainer information
Posting inmate good conduct credits or revocation of credits
Posting court dates, dispositions or other pertinent information

Qualification

AuditingMaryland Electronic Courts (MDEC)Offender Case Management Systems (OCMS)Information verificationProblem resolution

Required

Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate
Two years of experience in reviewing, verifying, and interpreting information in order to make determinations and resolve problems involving the calculation of prison sentences in accordance with applicable laws, and the regulations and policies of the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services

Preferred

Experience performing audits
Experience working with Maryland Electronic Courts (MDEC) and comparable Offender Case Management systems (OCMS)
