Responsibilities

Maintain, manage, and organize lab supplies, reagents, and stocks. Order supplies/reagents when running low. Distribute stocks to requesting labs when applicable
DNA/RNA for sequencing. Living and frozen plant tissues to collaborators as needed
Pressing and mounting botanical specimens. Transferring botanical samples from acidic to archival materials. Folding fragment and bryophyte packages and preparing other materials for the daily operation of the Herbarium
Data transcription in online portals. Application of barcodes and imaging

Required

A high school diploma and work experience in a related health care setting or in a clinical or research laboratory setting
12 semester hours of academic training in biology and/or chemistry
Registration as a Certified Laboratory Assistant by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists or an equivalent registry
Successful completion of a formal program of instruction for laboratory assistants at a hospital or academic institution
0+ years work experience

Preferred

Bachelor's Degree - Biology
1+ years wet lab experience (stock solution and plate preparation, cloning processes for gene amplification)
Herbarium specimen preparation and digitization
