Summer - Maintenance Crew
The Salvation Army Southern California is seeking a Summer Maintenance Crew member to maintain the cleanliness and functionality of Camp Redwood Glen. The role involves assisting with various maintenance tasks, supporting camp programs, and participating in camp activities and devotionals.

Responsibilities
Assist the Maintenance Crew Chief in maintaining camp efficiency and supporting the camp program
Clean and prepare buildings for campers and guests: dust, sweep, mop, disinfect bathrooms, clean mirrors, restock paper products, empty trash (with attention to recycling/compost), and replace light bulbs
Lock unused buildings before each session and check periodically to ensure they remain secure
Support scheduled programming with building set-ups and evening program preparations (e.g., campfire, sleep-out locations)
Maintain cleanliness and organization in public restrooms, laundry rooms, and living quarters
Restock cabins with cleaning supplies as requested
Assist with grounds keeping, landscaping, painting, and moving equipment or furnishings
Keep the Maintenance Building clean and tools properly stored
Perform daily trash runs and general maintenance tasks
Help with camper luggage and needs on opening and closing days
Assist with AV equipment setup as needed
Maintain inventory of supplies
Actively participate in evening programs, camp activities, and spiritual formation
Model Christ-like behavior and service for campers and staff
Immediately report any suspected child abuse to the Assistant Camp Director and follow proper reporting procedures
Other related duties as required
Qualification
Required
Minimum 16 years of age
Current CPR/First Aid/AED certification
Ability to work independently and with a minimum of supervision
Ability to be on time and ready to work when called upon
Must have general skills in working with children
Ability to maintain good rapport and communication with other staff members
Must be of good moral character
Must have a personal and growing relationship with the Lord
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis
Ability to grasp, push and pull objects and tools
Preferred
Camping experience either as a camper or staff
Maintenance experience
