Financial Reporting Analyst
The University of California, Riverside is seeking a Financial Reporting Analyst to provide analytical and transactional financial support for the School of Medicine. This role involves budgeting, financial reporting, account reconciliation, and ensuring compliance with university policies while contributing to effective financial decision-making.

Responsibilities
Analyzing financial data of limited to moderate complexity, preparing routine and ad hoc financial reports, reconciling accounts, and processing complex financial transactions to ensure accuracy, compliance, and proper stewardship of University resources
Exercising judgment within defined guidelines to resolve financial issues, identify discrepancies, and make appropriate recommendations
Collaborating regularly with department leadership, Business Operations staff, and other internal stakeholders, with occasional contact outside the department as needed to support financial operations
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training
2-4 years of related experience
Experience in higher education setting
Ability to function as a member of a team
Demonstrated interpersonal skills at all levels within the unit; service orientation; critical thinking; attention to detail; ability to multi-task in a high volume environment, organizational skills
Ability to gather reasonably retrievable information, organizes, and performs basic financial analysis assignments
Demonstrated ability to use spreadsheet and database software for moderately complex financial analysis, fiscal management and financial reports
Intermediate knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources
Ability to adapt to changing priorities
Ability to present information in a clear and concise manner both in writing and verbally
Preferred
Some knowledge of finance policies, practices and systems
Intermediate/advanced skills in Excel in order to develop financial reports, as well as merge data from different data sources
Knowledge of fund accounting and familiarity with basic GAAP principles
