Digital Media Forensics Specialist - Senior

Responsibilities

Provide support for CI and CT investigations
Research, design, deploy, and lead training events
Evaluate emerging forensic technologies
Provide operational security assessments and support cyber forensic and cyber security tasks
Combine computer science with forensic skills to recover information from computers and storage devices to recover data like documents, photos, and emails from computer hard drives and other data storage devices that have been deleted, damaged, or otherwise manipulated
Use forensic tools and investigative methods to find specific electronic data, including internet use history, word processing documents, images, and other files
Hunt for files and information that have been hidden, deleted or lost
Help officials analyze data and evaluate its relevance
Utilize expertise to protect computers from infiltration, determine how a computer was broken into, or recover lost files
Create detailed notes on processes undertaken and develop intelligence-based reporting
Provide testing and evaluation of emerging trends in digital forensics software and hardware and assist in developing new and innovative forensic processes and procedures
Perform all phases of the forensic examination of digital media, including on-site and off-site evidence acquisition/seizures, forensic analysis, and reporting, ensuring chain of custody is maintained and that applicable rules of evidence are adhered to
Provide support for incident response activities, intrusion events, and malware analysis
Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required

Current TS/SCI security clearance
Must meet one of the following: High School Diploma with 14 years of relevant experience, Associates degree with 12 years of relevant experience, Bachelor's degree with 10 years of relevant experience, Master's degree with 8 years of relevant experience
Minimum of two (2) years of host based forensic experience
DoD Digital Forensic Examiner (DFE) certification
Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
Provide support for CI and CT investigations

Preferred

Experience with mobile device forensics is highly desired
Certified Forensic Examiner (CFCE), GIAC Certified Forensic Examiner (GCFE), or EnCase Certified Examiner highly desired
