Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive support to the Division of Campus Life
Analyze and develop department payroll reports
Assess payroll/personnel business processes and recommend practices to align with UCPath/TRS requirements
Coordinate with departmental staff in the review and submission of accurate hiring and payroll information
Manage and execute livescan fingerprint process
Develop implementation and training of processes related to personnel, payroll, and the orientation of new employees to TRC and the UCPATH Portal
Maintain personnel files

Required

Demonstrated working knowledge of payroll policies and procedures, including timekeeping and reporting principles
Working knowledge of employee relations principles, recruitment, and overall employment process
Skill in computer software applications, particularly in a Windows environment, including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook programs
Typing skills sufficient to enter vast amounts of information into computerized recordkeeping and processing systems accurately and in a timely order to meet campus deadlines
Ability to maintain sensitive information confidentially
Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines while coping with a fluctuating workload and competing requirements
Skill in performing efficiently and courteously while coping with frequent interruptions and distractions in an open environment
Ability to explain procedures and reasoning in a concise, logical, thorough and practical manner
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build cooperative, effective relationships with students, staff, administration, volunteers, and the general public
Skill in basic mathematical operations
Ability to speak and read English sufficiently to be able to communicate effectively with many different constituencies
Ability to write memos and correspondence using grammatically correct English
Ability to gather information, analyze data, recognize patterns and tendencies, form logical conclusions and determine their implications, and identify viable alternatives
Bachelors degree in related area and/or equivalent experience / training

Preferred

Working knowledge of the University's Employee Database entry/update system and the University's Payroll Time Reporting system
