Director of Camp Operations
The Boys' Club of New York is seeking a Director of Camp Operations to ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of all camp facilities and administrative systems. This role includes overseeing facility management, human resources operations, and compliance and risk management, while supporting the Camp Director and operational team.
Non-profit Organization Management
Responsibilities
Oversee maintenance, and repair of all buildings, grounds, vehicles, and equipment
Develop and manage preventative maintenance schedules and vendor contracts
Coordinate with regulatory agencies to ensure facilities meet safety standards
Oversee daily food service, ensuring quality and quantity of meals
Oversee all transportation operations, scheduling and compliance
Plan and track capital projects in collaboration with contractors and vendors
Maintain inventories of tools, equipment, and supplies
Manage scheduling, contracts, and logistics for external groups using the facility
Serve as primary liaison for outside organizations to ensure quality experiences
Track use, collect feedback, and report on rental income and operational impacts
Manage the overall seasonal hiring processes with division leads
Ensure compliance with employment laws, background checks, and required certifications
Oversee onboarding, training, and performance documentation
Support staff culture, communication, and conflict resolution
Maintain accurate personnel records and HR systems
Ensure full compliance with Department of Health, Office of Children and Family Services, fire safety, labor laws, and NY State Park licensing regulations
Maintain emergency procedures, staff safety training, and incident reporting systems
Oversee risk assessments for programs, facilities, and transportation
Develop and maintain policies governing camp operations and safety
Supervise operations staff and vendors
Work with Program Team to plan and execute regular schedule and special events
Participate in strategic planning and annual review processes
