Administrative Assistant - Commitment Defense Unit
The State of Missouri is dedicated to providing legal representation to individuals unable to afford an attorney. They are seeking a motivated and organized individual to join their team as an Administrative Assistant, responsible for managing office tasks and providing clerical support to attorneys.
Responsibilities
Request and track records requested and received from various facilities
Draft and send form and other letters
Coordinate and arrange for depositions
Maintain database of annual reports, expert reports, depositions, and transcripts
Answer phones
Maintain calendars
Open/close case files
Coordinate office support services including: tracking budget and expenditure information, processing invoices and directing communication with vendors
Conduct inventory
Order supplies
Additional duties may include: providing clerical support to the District Defender and other staff attorneys
Other related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
One year of professional office management experience, demonstrated by supervision of staff or highly responsible administrative duties
Or, five years progressively responsible clerical/office experience
Post secondary education may be substituted for minimum experience requirements
