Senior Business Broker/M&A Advisor - US and Canada

Vanla Group is a lower-middle-market M&A advisory firm that helps business owners sell companies valued between $2M and $20M. They are seeking experienced Business Brokers / M&A Advisors to guide business owners through the sale and acquisition of privately held companies. The role involves advising clients on exit readiness, analyzing financial statements, and managing transactions from valuation to closing.

Responsibilities

Advise business owners on exit readiness, valuation expectations, and transaction strategy
Analyze financial statements, including P&Ls and balance sheets, utilizing add-backs to normalized earnings
Develop valuation ranges using accepted methodologies (cash flow multiples, market comps)
Prepare confidential business overviews and marketing materials
Proactively source and qualify buyers through outreach, networking, and inbound leads
Manage buyer screening, NDAs, and information flow while maintaining strict confidentiality
Facilitate negotiations, offers, letters of intent, and deal structure discussions
Coordinate due diligence processes with buyers, sellers, and professional advisors
Manage transactions through closing while maintaining momentum and deal discipline

Required

3+ years of experience in business brokerage, M&A advisory, running a successful business, corporate development, or valuation
Strong working knowledge of P&L analysis and cash flow normalization
Strong working knowledge of business valuation methodologies
Strong working knowledge of deal structuring and negotiation
Background working with small to mid-market privately held businesses preferred
Proficient in Excel, AI, MS Word, and CRMs
Excellent communication and rapport-building skills — naturally likable and persuasive
Strong critical thinking and business acumen; quick to learn various business models
Prior experience in sales, business development, client relations, or business ownership preferred
Familiarity with M&A concepts (EBITDA, SDE, multiples, earnouts) or eagerness to learn
Highly organized and comfortable managing multiple buyers and follow-ups daily
Tech-savvy — experienced with CRM systems, spreadsheets, Google Workspace, and research tools
Understands the importance of confidentiality and professionalism in sensitive transactions
KPI-driven with a focus on results, not just activity
Responsive during U.S. business hours and adaptable to shifting priorities
A confident communicator who can build trust quickly with business owners
Financially fluent and comfortable explaining numbers to non-financial clients
Organized, disciplined, and able to manage multiple deals simultaneously
Self-directed and motivated in a performance-based environment
Ethical, discreet, and professional in high-stakes situations
Comfortable working independently in a fully remote setting
Hungry for success, backed by a strong work ethic and desire to win
