Structural Engineer
Bridge Brothers Inc. is a leading manufacturer specializing in the design, engineering, fabrication, and construction of custom steel bridges. They are seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to lead and manage the design and engineering of bridge projects from concept through completion, ensuring successful project execution while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Responsibilities
Lead project design efforts from initial submittal through final approval and construction support
Use bridge loadings and site data to design superstructures and foundations following best practices
Apply relevant design standards including AASHTO, ACI, AISC, ASCE, DOT, ADM, and IBC
Develop and review design calculations, drawings, and reports
Maintain engineering standards, policies, and procedures
Provide daily oversight and support to project engineers, designers, and field teams
Visit job sites to gather data, take measurements, and support installation or field issues
Serve as a liaison between engineering, drafting, and construction personnel
Review and release shop drawings, submittals, and letters of conformance for customer approval
Communicate effectively with contractors, owners, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with all project requirements
Assist with technical support for sales personnel and customers on bridge design, fabrication, and installation
Track and report on project progress, budgets, and schedules
Support continuous improvement of engineering processes and workflow
Collaborate with drafting and detailing teams to ensure drawings accurately reflect design intent
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (required)
5+ years of experience in structural design, preferably in the bridge or heavy civil industry
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Gmail, etc.)
Strong ability to read, interpret, and create structural and fabrication drawings
Knowledge of structural materials, steel fabrication, and erection methods
Excellent organizational and communication skills with a high attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Preferred
Familiarity with AASHTO standards and structural foundation design is preferred
Experience in project management and team leadership
