Intern - Public Health Preparedness & Response (Summer)
The State of South Dakota Department of Health is seeking a Public Health Preparedness and Response Intern. This internship will involve engaging with public health preparedness staff on emergency plan updates and ongoing public health emergency responses, providing valuable experience in the field.

Responsibilities
Engaging and communicating with public health preparedness staff in emergency plan updates
Planning meetings, training, exercises, inventory and warehouse management
Ongoing public health emergency responses
Gaining valuable experience in public health emergency preparedness
Must be able to lift 40lbs or more
Must be willing to travel throughout South Dakota
Qualification
Required
Applicant must be a current part-time or full-time student (minimum of 6 credit hours) in upcoming semester or in the immediately preceding semester
Must be able to lift 40lbs or more
Must be willing to travel throughout South Dakota
Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for data entry, reporting, and presentations
Applicant must be enrolled as a part-time/full-time student at a college, university, or technical institute at the time they apply
By the start of the internship, the student should have completed one year (nine months) of their chosen program
Preferred
Preference may be given to applicants with a standing of junior/senior
Preference may be given to South Dakota residents
Preference may be given to students of South Dakota institutions
