Responsibilities
Brand Representative for Assigned Projects
Serve as the primary Starwood Hotels contact for select projects, managing Technical Services Agreements (TSA) per SOP guidelines
Oversee TSA meetings with owners, architects, and contractors from project kickoff to construction
Coordinate internal document reviews and ensure milestone deliverables are met
Provide technical guidance on drawing submissions and specifications
Act as the technical lead for internal and external disciplines, including MEP, technology, surveillance, landscaping, lighting, multimedia, kitchen, and laundry consultants
Collaborate closely with Interior Design and Food & Beverage teams
Review and provide input on architectural, building system, and LEED Silver sustainability requirements
Support contract evaluations and strategize deviations with the executive team
Implement sustainability initiatives to optimize Starwood Hotels’ carbon footprint
Develop reports and recommendations for sustainable building solutions
Identify cost-effective, innovative solutions to enhance sustainability without compromising quality
Oversee the construction phase, ensuring alignment with brand standards and project goals
Provide regular budget, schedule, and program updates to Starwood Hotels Executive Team
Manage submittals, material samples, and routine site walk-throughs with action reports
Support punch list resolution, commissioning verification, and final documentation
Maintain and update all Architecture & Construction Design Standards
Oversee content for key standard divisions, including:
Architectural Design
TSA Process Documents
Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing (MEP)
Life & Fire Safety
Technology & Sustainability Guideline
Advocate for LEED Silver certification across projects
Conduct sustainability workshops and assist owners in defining project sustainability goals
Oversee LEED submittals and technical analysis to maximize energy savings
Guide hotels in ongoing green operations, including waste reduction, energy efficiency, and sustainable procurement
Ensure compliance with Energy Star Portfolio Manager for energy tracking
Evaluate carbon offset programs and bulk purchasing agreements for renewable energy
Manage sustainability reporting, including carbon and waste tracking across properties
Qualification
Required
Passionate about sustainable building and a minimum of 3 years of similar work experience
Experience working in the hospitality, real estate development, or luxury brand sectors
Precise, organized and detail oriented
Solid working proficiency with Bluebeam, MS Project and MS Office Suite
Proficiency in building codes, regulations, and standards including IBC, IFC, and NFPA
Possess the ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment continually assessing priorities and acting quickly with a sense of urgency
Excels at communication, both verbal and written
Is flexible and willing to meet the demands of a 24-hour operation
Exceptional interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation
Preferred
LEED certification and understanding of sustainable design – preferred
A post-secondary diploma or degree would be a plus
