Responsibilities
Under general supervision, monitor and document construction activities of the construction contractor to ensure compliance with the plans and specifications
Displays knowledge and abilities to perform daily quality assurance inspections to assure the contractor’s workmanship meets industry standards, is high quality, and that materials and equipment meet or exceed the requirements of the plans and specifications
Compares materials and equipment installed with approved submittals, shop drawings, requests for information, and change orders and take appropriate action if unapproved materials or equipment are utilized
Displays applications of sound professional judgment on details of work
Prepare and submit a daily inspection report to AECOM’s construction manager
Performs project quantity surveys for tracking, reporting, and contractor payment purposes
Coordinates field matters, as necessary, between client personnel, contractor, design engineers, and third-party entities such as property owners, business, and other entities associated with the project
Under general supervision, performs routine duties
Displays knowledge and abilities to evaluate, select and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria to meet basic engineering and construction specifications
Displays applications of sound professional judgment on details of work
Independently performs walk-downs and inspections of installed commodities to assure conformance with specifications and design
Performs quantity surveys for tracking and reporting
May provide technical direction to drafters, technicians, and surveyors
Qualification
Required
BA/BS in Engineering, Construction or related field + 2 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Valid U.S Driver's License and as a condition of employment, must pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records Review
As a condition of employment, candidates must pass a drug screening
As a condition of employment, candidates must pass a medical screening
Preferred
Masters Degree in Engineering, Construction or related field
3+ years of relevant experience in construction management and inspection in the engineering or construction industry
Familiarity with the Richmond, VA Region
Relevant Field Experience preferred
