Civil Structural Supervisor
Ellaway Blues Consulting is seeking an experienced Civil & Structural Supervisor to oversee field execution of civil and structural construction activities on a large-scale industrial project. This role involves supervising day-to-day construction operations, coordinating contractors, enforcing safety and quality standards, and ensuring compliance with project specifications.
Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate all civil and structural construction activities, including earthwork, foundations, concrete placement, formwork, rebar, anchor bolts, and structural steel installation
Direct and oversee subcontractors and craft labor to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of work
Interpret and enforce construction drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and project procedures
Ensure compliance with site safety programs, conduct daily safety briefings, and actively participate in field safety walks
Coordinate work activities with other disciplines (mechanical, piping, electrical, and utilities) to support overall construction sequencing
Monitor construction progress against schedule and communicate constraints or risks to project leadership
Support quality control efforts, including inspections, punch lists, and turnover documentation
Maintain accurate daily reports, field logs, and redlines
Assist with material planning, equipment coordination, and work packaging to maintain productivity
Identify and resolve field issues in collaboration with engineering, QA/QC, and project management teams
Qualification
Required
7+ years of experience supervising civil and structural construction in industrial, mining, power, manufacturing, or heavy-infrastructure environments
Strong working knowledge of concrete, foundations, structural steel, and earthwork construction practices
Ability to read and interpret IFC drawings, structural details, and construction specifications
Demonstrated experience leading subcontractors and managing field crews
Solid understanding of construction safety standards and best practices
Experience supporting QA/QC inspections and turnover processes
Proficiency with daily reporting and construction documentation
Preferred
Experience on large capital or brownfield industrial projects
Familiarity with heavy equipment coordination and site logistics
Exposure to Primavera P6, Procore, or similar construction management tools
Background working in active operations or high-safety environments
