The Underwriting Intern will apply fundamental principles of underwriting commercial lines insurance policies, gaining hands-on experience in various departments and presenting findings to management at the end of the internship.

Responsibilities

Apply your talents in the fundamental principles of underwriting commercial lines insurance policies

Gain an understanding of the underwriting thought process and learn to utilize underwriting guidelines, procedures, rating manual rules and insurance laws/regulations

Work on innovative projects and gain experience through various departments: including underwriting, claims, marketing and actuarial

Present findings and recommendations to Berkley Southwest's management team during the final week of the internship
