CPS Investigations & Assessments Specialist (Evenings)

The CPS Investigations & Assessments Specialist will respond to emergency situations, conduct assessments, and ensure the safety and well-being of children and families while adhering to relevant policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

Conduct and complete in-depth client assessments and/or investigations
Develop individualized service plans for assigned cases and clinical case management, oversight, and therapeutic interventions to assist clients in achieving or maintaining the highest level of independence possible
Document clients' service histories as required using appropriate state and local case management computer programs to open, update, and close records
Provide courteous and timely customer service to County staff, vendors, citizens, and visitors
Lead and mentor staff and provide appropriate work guidance
Complete special projects as assigned, independently or as a team member
May perform other essential job functions specific to the position and department assignment

Required

Bachelor's degree in a Human Services field; or a Bachelor's degree in any field with a minimum of two (2) years of directly related experience in a human services area
Pass pre-employment background checks to include criminal, credit, CPS/APS, and DMV
Valid driver's license and good driving record (driving records may be reviewed annually for continued qualification)
Hold or obtain certifications such as CPR if required for assigned position
Obtain specific training such as CPS/Foster Care/APS state training as required or desired for assigned area

Preferred

Master's degree in Sociology, Public Administration, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field
Knowledge of social services systems for children, families, and adults reflects trauma-informed and strengths-based philosophy and values
Knowledge of laws and regulations as applied to assigned area(s)
Bi-lingual skills in Spanish and English
