Higher Education

Responsibilities

Process financial aid for designated programs, including federal and state aid, tuition waivers, verifications, and withdrawals, based on office needs
Support the Director of Financial Aid with departmental functions as needed
Work independently with minimal supervision, exercising sound professional judgment and managing multiple tasks while meeting strict deadlines
Represent the Financial Aid Office by participating in and presenting at Admissions events
Manage special projects alongside regular responsibilities, ensuring timely completion
Perform additional duties as assigned to support the goals and operations of the Financial Aid Office

Required

Experience in a college or university and a basic understanding of student financial aid
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to exercise sound professional judgment
Ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting strict deadlines
Ability to represent the Financial Aid Office by participating in and presenting at Admissions events
Ability to manage special projects alongside regular responsibilities
Ability to perform additional duties as assigned to support the goals and operations of the Financial Aid Office
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding sensitive information from students and families
Ability to operate closely with the Admission Office, Student Accounts Office, Registrar, and other offices in the SVC community
Ability to lift up to 20 lbs
Willingness to work occasional evening and weekend hours during peak periods

Preferred

Bachelor's Degree (desired)
Experience in a college or university and a basic understanding of student financial aid
Experience with federal and state financial aid programs and student information systems (e.g., Ellucian Colleague) preferred
