The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a skilled and motivated Civil Engineer with a focus in transportation and roadway design to join their growing team. This role involves contributing to various infrastructure projects, including the design and development of roadway systems and traffic control plans, while ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal standards.

Responsibilities

Support the planning and design of roadway projects, including geometric layout, pavement design, drainage, lighting, and traffic engineering

Assist in preliminary engineering phases, including conceptual and schematic design development

Prepare detailed design calculations and engineering documentation in compliance with local, state (ODOT), and federal standards

Develop Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) and Traffic Control plans

Produce contract documents including specifications, cost estimates, and quantity takeoffs

Coordinate with internal teams, clients, and regulatory agencies to ensure project requirements and permitting processes are met

Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining schedules and deliverables

Required

Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution

Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in roadway and transportation design

Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required; Professional Engineer (PE) license in Ohio required or ability to attain

Demonstrated experience with ODOT and/or local transportation standards

Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is required; experience with OpenRoads Designer and MicroStation is a plus

Preferred
