The State of Florida's State Attorney’s Office for the Fourth Judicial Circuit is dedicated to pursuing justice and enforcing the law. They are seeking a Legal Assistant III to perform complex and confidential legal administrative work, assisting Assistant State Attorneys with case preparation and various clerical tasks related to criminal court proceedings.

Responsibilities
Perform a variety of administrative and clerical tasks related to criminal court proceedings and assist the ASA with case preparation
Provide administrative support for ASAs such as setting up and maintaining the attorney’s calendars; screening calls and mail; transcribing; scanning; providing information to the general public; data input; and preparing appropriate legal documents and correspondence
Prepare legal documents including misdemeanor and felony files, subpoenas and court calendars
Assist in the processing and maintenance of all electronic media including e-filings and evidence and media
Review and promptly respond to all electronic messaging
Update case management system and notes
Receive, scan and distribute incoming mail
Receive and process Law Enforcement electronic media
Perform all duties as required vital to the operation of the office and the prosecution of criminal cases
Perform quality work within deadlines
Dependable and routine in-office attendance during regularly scheduled business hours
Incumbents in this position may be required to lift files (up to 25 lbs.)
Qualification
Required
A high school diploma or equivalency
Two (2) years of secretarial/clerical experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience
Preferred
One or more years of experience working in a law firm, courthouse, or legal department in a legal support role
Previous customer service experience
