RESEARCH TECHNICIAN I

Responsibilities
Performing standardized laboratory tasks in support of Brain Bank operations, including labeling, aliquoting, slide handling, and basic tissue preparation under supervision
Assisting with tissue request preparation, including pulling blocks/slides, organizing materials, and packing shipments
Supporting general laboratory maintenance, including cleaning work areas, restocking supplies, and maintaining organization of shared spaces
Performing basic data entry into tracking systems (Excel, REDCap, LabArchives) following established procedures
Assisting with freezer organization and inventory updates under supervision
Qualification
Required
Completion of an Associate's degree in a related field
Experience/exposure to scientific disciplines related to medical and/or biological research
Preferred
Meticulous attention to detail
Highly collaborative approach and ability to set and meet clear goals
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Excellent communication and documentation skills
Proficiency in laboratory techniques and equipment
Strict adherence to lab safety protocols
Good organization and time management
Ability to work effectively in a team while also being able to learn and adapt to new technologies
