New Grad, Entry LevelShaw Industries is a global leader in flooring solutions, seeking a Burkle Technician for their 3rd Shift. The role involves operating and maintaining equipment for the manufacture of flooring products while ensuring quality standards are met.
Building Materials
Responsibilities
Set-up and shut down of coating and annealing equipment
Making machine/process adjustments on line and on computer
Documenting process settings in the computer
Achieving set quality standards
Line audits to determine UV lamp outputs, coating and temperatures
Monitoring parameters such as gloss and coating weights
Visual inspections of products for defects and grading
Operating a crane and managing the chemical tank farm to include drums and totes
Operating quality measurement tools
Calibration of oven temperatures and coating weights
Operating the conveyor system for the Burkle line
Direct LTO’s of material to pull and when to pull it
Trouble shooting quality, production, and equipment concerns
Working with and training burkle tech assistant
May be required to drive a lift truck
Will be working around chemicals
Must be a team player
Take an active role in committees
Must have the ability to be cross trained for other jobs
Must be able to bend, squat, and stoop several times a day
Must be able to stand for 8 – 12 hours a day
Must be able to climb stairs several times through the day
Must be able to assist in lifting up to 75 lbs. several times a day
Must be able to lift 35-50 lbs. on a regular basis throughout the day
Must be able to visualize defects in the product
Basic reading, writing, and math ability
Must be able to operate a lift truck once trained
Must be capable of being trained on current computer systems and software
