The QA Lab Technician will perform administrative and laboratory duties, ensuring compliance with established regulations and assisting in various laboratory analyses and evaluations.

Responsibilities
Prepare samples, operate laboratory instrumentation and report results
Create, distribute, and maintain Certificates of Analysis
Create internal specification sheets
Coordinate required testing with third party lab, including creating and distributing transmittal testing forms
Ensures proper storage, organization, and disposal of retain samples
File laboratory paperwork and understand multiple filing systems
Train in preparing and performing sensory (organoleptic) evaluations
Train in performing chemical and physical analyses on various samples, including raw material, intermediate and finished products. Tests include but are not limited to visual inspections, specific gravity, refractive index, flashpoint, brix, pH, moisture, etc
Enter and look up information in different databases
Reports out of specification results in a timely manner to responsible individuals and departments
Train in any applicable laboratory instrument calibration activities
Follow established Good Manufacturing Practices and Good Laboratory Practices including use of PPE
Assist with general lab upkeep; Keep work areas clean and organized
Any other reasonable duty assigned by management
Qualification
Required
A Bachelors or Associate degree in science, Chemistry is preferred
Prior experience in laboratory setting a plus
Ability to make mathematical computations
Ability to work off shift, and weekends as needed
Knowledge of laboratory tests and analyses a plus
Ability to handle samples and laboratory equipment
Strong attention to detail
Organized record keeping
Sense of urgency with ability to effectively multitask and re-prioritize as needed
Safety minded
Consistently works safely and adheres to safety protocol
Self-motivated, organized, and follows through to completion
Clear, concise communication
Ability to work in a team environment
Proficient use of Microsoft Office and other work-related databases
Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time
Visual acuity required to perform inspections
