Fuel Handling Equipment Technician

WECTEC Staffing Services, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Westinghouse Electric Company LLC, is seeking a Fuel Handling Equipment Technician to support nuclear fuel handling equipment. The role involves installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment at nuclear power plants, with a strong emphasis on safety and quality.

Responsibilities

Install, set-up, maintain, inspect, calibrate, and troubleshoot fuel handling/outage critical crane equipment at customer sites worldwide
Review operational procedures, maintenance procedures, and drawings in detail
Provide support to engineering and training by performing activities such as equipment modifications, equipment setup and testing, mock-up preparation, process testing, and equipment and process qualifications. Document equipment performance issues during field implementation and ensure corrective actions are complete before next scheduled use
Participate in training programs to acquire and maintain certifications and keep current with technology and procedures
Perform all assigned tasks with support, with a high degree of quality, and within the parameters of qualified procedures and guidelines. Maintain and document all quality related issues
Practice a “Safety First” attitude as an important part of all activities. Demonstrate good housekeeping practices in work areas
Develop, exercise and promote team-building skills with peers, supervisors, contractors, customers and other departments. Demonstrate good customer sensitivity and develop a focus on solutions to problems encountered
Report to the service supervisor the status of field work progress, changes, problems, and mistakes on a daily or as need basis. You will have extensive travel via airplane and/or automobile (60%-70%) and working with and around hazardous materials

Required

Post high school degree/certificate or equivalent in experience
1 or more years of experience in a similar role
Previous experience working in a nuclear power plant with general knowledge of plant operations, maintenance, and inspections
Ability to travel 60%-70% of the workweek
Ability to maintain unescorted access status at nuclear power plant sites
