Accounting Manager
CFS is a mission-driven non-profit healthcare organization seeking a seasoned Accounting Manager – Operations & Process Improvement to enhance its accounting function. This hands-on role focuses on stabilizing and modernizing accounting operations while collaborating with leadership and cross-functional teams to implement improvements and document scalable procedures.

Responsibilities
Support all core accounting functions, including:
Accounts Payable
Bank and balance sheet reconciliations
Journal entries
Vendor accounting
Revenue recognition
Month-end close
Read and interpret loan agreements and advise on proper accounting treatment
Assist with accounting support related to employee reimbursement programs
Review current accounting and operational processes end-to-end and identify improvement opportunities
Streamline workflows and reduce manual effort through automation and AI tools where appropriate
Partner with department leaders to understand how data flows across the organization
Learn and work within existing systems, leveraging internal people and resources rather than rebuilding from scratch
Review and clean up fixed assets and depreciation schedules
Review, clean up, and properly track prepaid expenses
Create and maintain supporting schedules and documentation
Support ad hoc projects as priorities evolve
Document processes, procedures, and best practices to support long-term sustainability
The Accounting Manager will partner closely with the Controller, HR, Contracts, Procurement, AP, and AR teams
Provide confident, thoughtful recommendations while remaining open to exploration and collaboration
Be comfortable asking questions, testing ideas, and iterating toward the right solution as a team
Qualification
Required
Seasoned Accounting Manager with broad operational experience
Comfortable being 'in the weeds' while still understanding the big picture
Experience supporting accounting, finance, and HR functions
Strong understanding of end-to-end accounting operations
Ability to learn new systems quickly and navigate complex system environments
Strong research skills with the ability to independently investigate issues and solutions
Confident communicator who can give informed advice and collaborate across teams
Highly adaptable; able to move fluidly from task to task as priorities shift
Curious, flexible, and solutions-oriented
Comfortable making mistakes, asking questions, and exploring new approaches
Collaborative by nature—someone who enjoys figuring things out alongside others
Pragmatic and resourceful, using existing systems and people to drive results
Preferred
Background in consulting or exposure to multiple environments strongly preferred
Healthcare or non-profit experience is a plus, but not required
