Training Specialist - Full Time - Carlisle

The Arc of Cumberland & Perry Counties (CPARC) is hiring a full-time Training Specialist to ensure that Residential Services staff receive all necessary trainings to meet regulatory requirements and develop their professional skills. The role involves scheduling and coordinating training sessions, onboarding new hires, and maintaining training records while promoting staff development.

Responsibilities

Scheduling trainings, tracking training dates, and coordinating arrangements for speakers, sites, and materials for ongoing staff training
Working with the Recruitment Specialist to onboard new hires smoothly and coordinate with program management on start dates
Providing and scheduling orientation for new hires, including required trainings such as Medication Administration, CPR/First Aid, Ethics of Touch, and ODP-required topics
Chairing the Residential Services Training Committee to plan, monitor, and improve training programs
Maintaining training records, including College of Direct Support (CDS) and Praesidium Academy databases
Ensuring compliance with Waiver and ODP-required trainings
Recommending or creating new training content to meet organizational needs
Coordinating monthly trainings for Residential Supervisors
Leading Residential Services events such as the annual picnic, holiday celebration, and other special events
Maintaining a flexible schedule to accommodate evening trainings and events

Qualification

Training experienceMedication Administration SupervisorFirst Aid/CPR instructorComputer literacyPublic speakingOrganizational skills

Required

High school diploma or equivalent required
Two years of training experience in a human services field desired
Comfortable speaking to large groups
Computer literacy required (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Valid PA driver's license required

Preferred

Additional education in a related field preferred
Training as a Medication Administration Supervisor, First Aid/CPR instructor, and Positive Approaches to Aggressive Behavior is helpful
