Senior Credit Analyst

The Senior Credit Analyst is responsible for granting and maintaining credit limits, overseeing account debtor profiles, and managing credit limit expirations, while also assisting management in financial analysis and credit proposals.

Responsibilities
Evaluate the credit worthiness of current and prospective commercial account debtors through the review of financial statements, use of mercantile credit reports, public information databases, internal payment history and any other information that could serve as a basis for establishing a reasonable credit limit
Assist management in the preparation of written credit proposals and presentations to various credit committees
Prepare written analysis of current and prospective credit exposures
Assist in maintaining and reviewing current information for account debtors as per company policy
Stay informed on industry trends as it relates to concentration in the portfolio and debtor risk
Review credit alerts to be sure the company’s risk is manageable
Provide assistance to external and internal customers through phone and email
Maintain communication with Account Resolutions, Sales, Underwriting, and Operations departments to minimize credit losses
Review debtors for prospective clients and communicate with the Sales staff through Salesforce
Trains, mentors, and assist management in developing new team members on the credit team
Work with management to determine and communicate potential business needs that require IT support
Work with management to review credit losses and explore potential changes in credit standards or processes

Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or related field is required
A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience in credit analysis and risk management
Extensive understanding of financial statements (analytics and trends) is a must
Ability to read, interpret, and analyze financial statements
Must have a deep understanding of spreading financial statements
Problem solving and decision-making skills are essential
Initiative and ability to work independently and as part of the team
Strong work ethic and organizational skills
Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
Ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail
Strong professional communication skills
Well organized, resourceful, and planful; effective and efficient at organizing multiple resources to get things done
Ability to comfortably work through conflict without hesitation and make challenging decisions
Preferred
Master's degree in accounting or finance is preferred, but not required
Widespread knowledge of the transportation and/or logistics factoring industry is strongly preferred
