Responsibilities

Build and grow a customer base from zero by actively engaging in door-to-door prospecting, generating leads through referrals, and closing deals
Handle inbound leads from company advertising and office calls, converting them into loyal customers
Provide exceptional pest control and termite services, including inspections, treatments, and follow-ups
Conduct home visits and consultations to assess customer needs and recommend appropriate pest and termite solutions
Ensure customer satisfaction by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and maintaining positive relationships
Lead the startup of the new Ohio branch, establishing operational processes and building momentum through consistent sales and service efforts
Track personal performance metrics, such as sales targets and customer acquisition, and implement strategies to drive growth
Prepare for future team expansion by demonstrating best practices in sales techniques, customer service, and industry knowledge
Establish and manage initial day-to-day operations for the startup branch, including personal scheduling, initial territory mapping, and basic resource setup to launch effectively
Coordinate with headquarters and support departments to secure startup resources and ensure smooth initial execution of solo sales and service activities
Monitor and maintain personal inventory levels, equipment, and supplies to enable efficient, independent field operations during the early growth phase
Roll out and adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety standards from day one, with an emphasis on personal compliance in pest and termite services to build a strong foundation
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, partners, and stakeholders in the Ohio market
Collaborate with other departments, such as marketing and product development, to drive business growth and innovation
Represent the company at local industry events, trade shows, and community activities to enhance brand awareness and reputation
Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support branch startup, company initiatives, or regional goals (e.g., special projects, reporting, market research, or assistance with early operational tasks)

Required

Proven experience in pest control and termite services, with a track record of success in sales, service, and customer acquisition
Must hold a valid Ohio Commercial Pesticide Applicator License issued by the Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA), including passing the Core exam and relevant categories such as Category 10a (General Pest Control) for household/structural pests and Category 10b (Termite) for wood-destroying organisms/termite control (or equivalent qualifications to perform general pest and termite treatments). Additional category like 12 (Wood Destroying Insect Diagnostic Inspection) may be required for certain inspections; applicants must pass exams with at least 70% and meet age/experience standards
Previous experience in a sales or service role within the pest control industry, preferably with door-to-door or referral-based lead generation
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
Strong problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment
Proficiency in CRM software, sales tools, and Microsoft Office suite
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as needed within the Ohio territory
