CTE INSTRUCTOR - Retail Business
Rite of Passage is seeking a CTE Instructor for Retail Business to deliver instructional curriculum and develop vocational technology skills. The role involves preparing lesson plans, tracking student progress, and ensuring a safe learning environment while collaborating with staff and maintaining classroom management.

Responsibilities
Adheres to the facility, daily and school schedule
Prepares, in advance, for each class, implements and delivers daily lesson plans and activities for the purpose of delivering instructional curriculum related to subject area competencies, developing employable vocational technology skills, and/or leading to industry recognized certification
Designs lesson plans to follow the Target Teaching format, and collaborates with other staff to design and emphasize integrated activities for the purpose of developing academic skills appropriate for career paths
Communicates student behavioral and vocational progress and information to Case Management, Clinicians, School Office and direct care staff on a timely and consistent basis
Participates and contributes to the Professional Learning Community process by consistently communicating information, being prepared, and demonstrating behaviors that reflect continuous improvement and team work
Tracks student attendance. maintains and provides student grades (weekly and exit) for the purpose of providing documentation of student progress
Adheres to school policies pertaining to grading, posting students’ grades and quarterly reports
Responds to the questions and needs of the students who have a variety of ability levels
Develops, implements and maintains effective classroom management strategies for the purpose of ensuring a safe and secure, clean, positive and inviting learning environment. Conducts large and small group instruction as well as individual instruction when needed
Works collaboratively with Direct-care staff on implementing a “team” based program and maintains effective working relationships with other staff members to ensure accurate and timely communication of information, exchange of materials, ideas and instructional strategies
Maintains a three-day supply of emergency lesson plans that follow the clinical teaching format and define student learning objectives and evaluation procedures for the purpose of ensuring instructional continuity
Ensures the vocational building is maintained in a safe and orderly fashion. Develops operational procedures (i.e. shop safety, security, tool, etc.) and documents violations for the purpose of ensuring shop safety
Maintains a daily and monthly inventory of all supplies, materials and equipment to ensure all items are accounted for
Utilizes a safety data sheet when applicable
Handles the responsibility for all instruction, curriculum, tools, identification of Special Education students in each class, and levels of completion in compliance with city, county, state and federal law, licensing agency and Rite of Passage Rules and Regulations
