Remote Civil Structural Project Engineer of Federal Services

Enercon Services, Inc. is seeking a Principal Civil Structural Engineer to join their Federal Services Group. This role involves designing and analyzing critical power plant systems, applying engineering principles to deliver innovative solutions, and collaborating across teams to address engineering challenges in both nuclear and non-nuclear facilities.

Responsibilities

Design & Analysis Excellence : Design and analysis of changes to existing power plants and new plant systems. Perform static equivalent and dynamic analysis of structures for seismic loads. Design of pipe supports, structures, etc. (nuclear power plant experience desired)
Engineering & Technical Expertise : Perform work requiring application of basic technical principles, theories, standards, and concepts (including reading and understanding design drawings and technical specifications as necessary to support preparation of project deliverables, such as calculations, specifications, and engineering evaluations). Develop specifications of structural components. Support engineering design and analysis projects for the power industry
Problem Solving & Innovation : Perform site walkdowns to identify design solutions and develop cost-effective problem resolutions. Interface with staff engineers and engineers across offices
Project & Design Management : Develop equipment mounting, foundation design, and pipe support calculations and designs. Perform reviews, assemble and prepare design modification packages. Gain familiarity with and application of industry codes and government regulations

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
Professional Engineering License
Minimum 10 years' with power system design experience
Experience working on DOE federal projects
Demonstrated proficiency in preparation of structural calculations is desired
Knowledge of discipline specific computer analysis codes as well as standard office production software
Proficient in Word and Excel
Familiar with the International Building code and building code design
Good writing, presentation, and communication skills
Ability to be an individual contributor and work effectively in teams
Familiar with concrete and steel design codes and with working stress and ultimate strength design approaches
Must be a U.S. Citizen
