Supplier Quality Engineer
Advantage Technical is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer II to join their Arden Hills team. This role is essential for driving supplier performance improvement and ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory standards while collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve supply chain issues.
Responsibilities
Drive quality improvement initiatives and corrective actions related to externally sourced components
Lead and support both reactive and proactive supplier investigations and improvement projects in collaboration with Supplier Engineering, Manufacturing/Test Operations, Commercial Sourcing, Design Assurance, and R&D
Analyze complex quality and supplier performance issues, developing effective solutions by evaluating data, identifying root causes, and assessing business impact
Plan, organize, and execute non-routine project assignments, maintaining schedules, priorities, and deliverables with minimal oversight
Work independently under general direction to determine solution approaches, interpret and apply company policies, and recommend process or policy enhancements as appropriate
Establish and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders to support project execution and quality objectives
Participate in setting project goals and objectives; may lead projects within the function or represent a specialized discipline on larger cross-functional teams
Contribute to key programs and initiatives where outcomes have a significant impact on timelines, cost, and resource utilization
Demonstrate a consistent commitment to patient safety and product quality by ensuring compliance with the Quality Policy, Quality System requirements, and all documented procedures
Promote and maintain a work environment that supports quality system compliance, ensuring appropriate resources are available to meet quality objectives
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in an engineering-related field (Mechanical, Materials, Chemical, Electrical, or similar technical discipline)
2–4 years of relevant experience in quality engineering, supplier quality, or a related field
Working knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS), regulatory compliance, and risk management principles
Preferred
Lead Auditor certification or experience with ISO 13485, ISO 9001, and/or TS 16949 standards
Strong cross-functional communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with suppliers, internal teams, and leadership
Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
Experience using quality problem-solving tools, CAPA methodologies, and technical documentation
